| As you all know, today, the Turks call our pets ''Turks''.Now briefly about who are these beautiful animals and what their story. I think it's logical - before calling animal ''ethnicity'', we should learn about a place where they were found first of all and by whom . They are called Van cats and it means that now, we need to talk about the city of Van, about who built it and who lived there (until 1915). Van (Armenian: Վան), is a city in eastern Turkey's (TODAY) Van Province, and is located on the eastern shore of Lake Van. It is the cultural center of the area's Kurdish majority (TODAY). The city was nbsp; founded by old Armenia's Urartu King Sartur I (Սարդուրի Ա) ՛(835-825 BC), named Dushba (Տուշպա) and turned into the capital city. Then the city and the lake was renamed Van. Located at approx the center of the Armenian nation, Van was linked to the nations important regions and had special military importance. The city was protected from the west by Lake Van(Nairi Sea), from the south by the Armenian Davros Mountainchain's eastern borders. The fortress built on the cities central outcropping of cliff-surrounded stone, had military importance, which it kept until 1915. For these reasons, Van was one of the impregnable and populous cities of the old world, which has existed continuously from its foundation to the present. And so we learned that Van belonged to Armenians - They built on their land city and lived peacefully (until 1915) and of course they re-educated these beautiful animals .
